- 6 Reasons to Take Care of Yourself
We all know that we don't look after ourselves. We eat badly, don't get enough sleep, don't get regular haircuts, and we lack the discipline to exercise enough. We pay little attention to our mental health and we often push ourselves to the brink of burnout. Self-care is the easiest way to prevent this. Here are six reasons why self-care is so important. 1) Optimal performance Any athlete will tell you it is physically impossible to operate a full bore all the time. If you work 80 hours a week, your performance will eventually start to decline. Choosing to meet a deadline instead of going for a 30-minute run could compromise the quality of your work. 2) Overall well-being Instinctively we know what is good for us yet we chose not to do it. Drink more water, wear sunscreen, each fruit, and vegetables. We need to increase the volume of these instincts of well-being. 3) Self-confidence Looking after yourself makes you feel better about yourself which in turn provides a bump to your self-esteem. We all know how great we feel after a good haircut, 4) Endurance The better you look after your car, the longer it will last. The same is true of yourself. The more time you take to look after your personal needs, the more stamina and endurance you will have to face the challenges of the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. 5) It is Quick The body has been built in a way that does not require large blocks of time to be maintained, provided it is done regularly. For example 15 minutes of reading, a 25-minute walk, 10 minutes to cook something healthy, and 10 minutes of journaling. That is a total of 60 minutes - less than the average length of a Game of Thrones episode. 6) Make it Social Apart from journaling, you can make all of the abovementioned activities social. We all know the satisfaction of deep social connections. Not practicing self-care is like emptying your cup until you have nothing left to give. We have looked at the benefits of self-care. Consider now the risks of not looking after yourself: depression, anxiety, anger, frustration, and illness. Self-care appears to be a win-win proposition. #lifecoach #motivation #lifecoaching #coaching #love #mindset #coach #inspiration #selflove #life #success #selfcare #lifestyle #mentalhealth #mindfulness #personaldevelopment #entrepreneur #goals #happiness #meditation #loveyourself #healing #motivationalquotes #lifequotes #positivevibes #fitness #businesscoach #motivationalspeaker #business
- 6 Reasons Every Man should Own a Suit
Back in the 1970s people dressed up. Fathers wore a jacket to dinner, men wore suits to work and airline travelers didn't look like overgrown adolescents. Here are six reasons you should own a suit and use it regularly. 1) You could be more productive at work It may take a bit more time to get ready in the morning, but a suit could increase your focus. It sends a message to your brain of alertness and formality. It is like going into battle in a suit of armour and helps you concentrate on the job at hand. 2) People will look at your differently Business is about perception. A meeting with a guy in a suit sends a strong message of professionalism. It says that this guys knows his shit. The flipside of rocking up in a hoody and baggy jeans sends a message of sloppiness. 3) Confidence boost If you look good, you feel good. If you are doing a presentation in front of a large crowd, you want to wear your best suit, tie, and shoes. When you dress well, you know it and others know it too. 4) Sexy Studies have found that lingerie is for men and suits are for women. If you want to be irresistibly attractive to the opposite sex, a well-tailored/fitted suit goes a long way. 5) The more expensive the suit, the fitter you will be If you spend a lot of money on a perfectly fitting suit (assuming you are in shape when you buy it), there is a strong incentive to stay in shape. If your shape adversely changes, the first place you are going to feel this is in the suit. There is no way you are going throw away that suit at the expense of missed trips to the gym. 6) A suit communicates personality Clothes generally communicate this but the suit does this loudest because you can mix and match tie, shirt, and shoe combinations with the suit. It also provides you with the chance to add your personal touches such as a bow tie or a tie pin. You know how it feels when you put on a high-quality suit. You feel like a million bucks. People respond better to you. You should, therefore, dress up more often. #lifecoach #motivation #lifecoaching #coaching #love #mindset #coach #inspiration #selflove #life #success #selfcare #lifestyle #mentalhealth #mindfulness #personaldevelopment #entrepreneur #goals #happiness #meditation #loveyourself #healing #motivationalquotes #lifequotes #positivevibes #fitness #businesscoach #motivationalspeaker #business
- 5 Reasons to Learn a Foreign Language
We live in a global village where the ability to connect has never been easier. Learning a foreign language opens your horizons to new people, cultures, and cuisines that will enrich your life in more ways than you think. Here are 5 additional reasons why you should learn a new language. 1) Feed Your Brain Learning a new language is gum for the brain. It enhances your memory, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Think of it as a cerebral cross-fit. 2) Expand Your Market Half a billion people in the world speak Spanish. Your ability to reach them in their home language exponentially increases your money marking and career development opportunities. 3) Boost Your Sexiness There are seven romance languages - the most widely spoken being French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. Your mastery of these tongues is going to increase your level of sexiness with all heterosexual women. 4) Discipline Language mastery requires discipline. Russian, Greek, and Mandarin have different alphabets- so the discipline required in being understood in Vladivostok is monumental, and the more discipline in your life, the more fulfilled you will be. 5) Perspective The new language will move you into a new and different world. This will automatically cause you to draw comparisons to what is most familiar. Learning about another culture sheds light on aspects of your own culture - both positive and negative. This will give you a greater appreciation of what you have. So go forth and multiply your foreign vocabulary as you widen your horizons, exercise your brain and increase your sexual market value. #lifecoach #motivation #lifecoaching #coaching #love #mindset #coach #inspiration #selflove #life #success #selfcare #lifestyle #mentalhealth #mindfulness #personaldevelopment #entrepreneur #goals #happiness #meditation #loveyourself #healing #motivationalquotes #lifequotes #positivevibes #fitness #businesscoach #motivationalspeaker #business
- 6 Reasons All Men should Play Poker
Poker is a game of skill that is mastered through patience, discipline, strategy, and the ability to read people. Business success requires the same qualities. So let's jump into why it is so useful to learn poker as a boost to your professional life. 1) Strategy Poker is a game of probabilities. You are dealt a pair of cards and with this, you need to either construct a winning strategy or opt-out and wait for the next round. Your winning strategy is a function of your ability to estimate the probability of winning on the strength of your hand or the strength of your bluff. This is not far removed from the business of negotiation. You may not always have the best product or service, but you can negotiate either the strength of the value of your product or service or the perceived value it will deliver. You also need to know when you are out of your depth and need to fold. 2) People Business is a game of people. Your ability to read people will help you close deals. When negotiating the price of a deal, you need to suss out your counterpart. If you are a buyer, you don't want to leave too much on the table. You want to find that price point where the counterpart is neither too happy nor too sad. In poker, you want to estimate the risk your opponents are prepared to take, and how they react to situations of stress. 3) Patience Poker is a slow-moving game. It consists of a series of betting rounds and each round consists of making moves to achieve the optimal reward. You may need to make multiple decisions with a single hand to move into a position of strength. This methodical plan of attack requires patience, the same quality required to build a business. 4) Focus Business requires attention to detail and concentration, especially if it is your own small business. If you come from a large corporation and you decide to go it alone, you need to cover a wide base of responsibilities. You may need to be a chief marketer, human resource officer, and technology officer. Poker requires you to be observant. Every facial expression, tweak, and gestures must be observed as a potential cue to the hands of your opponents and could be the difference between winning the pot and losing your chips. 5) Money management You start the game with a limited bankroll and you must optimally deploy resources based on the information off the table - your cards, the community cards, and the mood of your opponents. You need to make quick decisions as the environment changes. You want to go all in on the strategies that present a high probability of success and you want to protect your capital on hands with a lower probability of success. Business is no different. You need to stay in business over the long term and therefore deploy your resources wisely. 6) Emotional control If you are playing for high stakes, poker can put you in stressful situations. Business is stressful. If it is your own business, the stakes are high and you can flourish under this stress that will determine your success. #lifecoach #motivation #lifecoaching #coaching #love #mindset #coach #inspiration #selflove #life #success #selfcare #lifestyle #mentalhealth #mindfulness #personaldevelopment #entrepreneur #goals #happiness #meditation #loveyourself #healing #motivationalquotes #lifequotes #positivevibes #fitness #businesscoach #motivationalspeaker #business
- 8 Ways to More Powerful Communication
We assume other people understand our intentions. These intentions rattle around our brains, and we assume others are fully versed with these intentions. We need to fine-tune the communication of these intentions and here are some pointers. 1) Become a powerful listener You have two ears and only one mouth for a reason. To communicate your message powerfully, you need to understand your audience. Are they angry, hungry, tired, or distracted? Is it possible your message will go unheard? Wait for the audience to be most receptive to your message. 2) Listening is more than just being quiet You may need to coax your audience into giving you pointers as to whether they are in the best place to receive your message. You need to understand their intentions and emotional position to identify the optimal moment to speak. 3) No games We often play games with people by not being open and honest. This is not always done with evil intentions. It may be the opposite - we may hold back the truth to spare the other person's feelings. Honesty and candor can be hurtful if spoken harshly or rudely. When it is done with empathy, the result can be very powerful. 4) Words are only one-third of the equation. Good communication is verbal, vocal, and visual. While your words are important, focus also on the tone and volume of your voice, in addition to your visual gestures or body language. 5) The right words Churchill would spend hours writing his famous war speeches and focusing on selecting the ideal words. Words have power and the pen is mightier than the sword. Saying the right word at the right time can do more than just make a person feel good - it can have an impact that is positive and lasting. 6) Use silence If silence descends on a conversation, do not feel the need to immediately fill it. This is the moment when the person seems to freeze and ponder what is being said. Allow this to happen and do not let this silence make you feel uncomfortable. 7) Clamp down on Interruptions There are many reasons why people interrupt and most of them are not good. The two most common reasons are because they are not listening or they have little respect. Should the other person repeatedly interrupt you, end the conversation and walk away. 8) Summarise Take the time at the end of a conversation or meeting to summarise and discuss follow-up. Powerful communication plays an essential role in your professional and private life. It builds trust, increases engagement, and creates better relationships. Work on becoming a powerful communicator. #lifecoach #motivation #lifecoaching #coaching #love #mindset #coach #inspiration #selflove #life #success #selfcare #lifestyle #mentalhealth #mindfulness #personaldevelopment #entrepreneur #goals #happiness #meditation #loveyourself #healing #motivationalquotes #lifequotes #positivevibes #fitness #businesscoach #motivationalspeaker #business
- 5 Reasons You Should Always be on Time
Impuncuality says a lot about you, and none of it is good. It screams low value. Consistent punctuality, on the other hand, screams self control, mastery and discipline. It shows you are a man of substance, and someone that needs to be taken seriously. Here are 5 reasons you always want to be on time, or slightly early. 1) It shows respect Punctuality communicates that you respect your counterparty and you respect yourself. In a business environment, this is an optimal point of departure. If you arrive late, you weaken your position. Starting off a meeting with an apology means the balance of power is already tipped away from you. You are now under pressure to do something special to restore equilibrium. 2) No good excuses Blaming someone or something else for your tardiness means you are playing the victim card. The traffic made me late. My alarm clock did not go off. These phrases belong in the lexicon of whiners and losers - not of high value men. 3) Time wasting Time is one of the worlds most precious and scarcest resources. Oil companies can discover new oil reserves, billionaires can earn more money, buy no one can buy more time. 4) Being late snowballs If you are busy, being late for one meeting normally makes you late for the next meeting and the next meeting. If you have 6 stacked meetings, being late for the first may mean you are late for the next five. 5) Stresses you out Being late puts you under stress which releases cortisol into your body which in turn interferes with your ability to make decisions, think and speak clearly, perform with precision, and get things done with a winning attitude. Being 15 minutes early is better than one minute late. Leave early for meetings. Give yourself a buffer depending the time of day and the place in which you live. If you live in a town with 120 inhabitants, a 5 minute buffer will suffice. If you live in a teeming metropolis and have a meeting at 6pm, your buffer may need to expand to 30 minutes. #finance#money#business#investing#investment#entrepreneur#financialfreedom#success#stocks#wealth#trading#realestate#stockmarket#invest#motivation#forex#bitcoin#investor#accounting#cryptocurrency#marketing#wallstreet#startup#trader#personalfinance#entrepreneurship#credit#smallbusiness#goals
- 5 Reasons Every Man should become a Beast in the Kitchen
The majority of Michelin star chefs are male, yet most men are terrified of the kitchen and only enter to grab snacks from the fridge. The time has come for high-value men to reclaim this piece of real estate that rightly belongs to us. Here are five reasons you should become a beast in the kitchen. 1) It is a Vital Skill Most of you have seen the documentary Super Size Me. It shows how too much junk food will fuck you up physically and mentally. As gender roles continue to pivot, and with the increase of men living alone, if you cannot cook you are going to be spending time in the Mcdonald's drive-thru. Your testosterone is going to drop, you are going to get fat and ugly, and no woman will want to drop their panties for you. 2) It is Healthy If you avoid the temptation of microwave meals and actually cook real food, it cannot be unhealthy. If you focus on whole foods like meat, fish, chicken, vegetables, and fruits, your testosterone will pick up, you will get lean and chiseled, and all the ladies in the produce section of your local grocery store will want your number. 3) Perfect Information When you cook, you know exactly what you are putting into your body. Your body is a machine. It is designed to execute manly work. You therefore want to know exactly what you are putting into it! 4) It is a Fun Hobby Not only will you learn a new skill, but you will also have fun in the process. You will learn new recipes, and how to combine different foods, and you will have an excuse to buy a really cool set of knives - there is nothing more manly that that! 5) Its a Natural Aphrodisiac Women love a man who knows his way around the kitchen - enough said. I started by buying the Jaimie Oliver's: 5 Ingredients - Quick and Easy Food book. Struth, every recipe only has 5 ingredients. Any idiot can cook using this. So get into the kitchen and get dirty. #lifecoach#motivation#lifecoaching#coaching#love#mindset#coach#inspiration#selflove#life#success#selfcare#lifestyle#mentalhealth#mindfulness#personaldevelopment#entrepreneur#goals#happiness#meditation#loveyourself#healing#motivationalquotes#lifequotes#positivevibes#fitness#businesscoach#motivationalspeaker#business
- Discipline is the Gateway to Happiness
Self-discipline is at the centre of mastery and control, Your free will is governing your emotional system, your mind, and your body. Free will is like the CEO of a company that has three branches - the body, mind, and emotion. He takes the information from these three branches and makes decisions based on this information. The CEO is running the show and calling the shots. Free will is in control. Non-disciplined people are controlled by their minds, body, and emotions. Their hierarchy of control is upside down. So let's see how this plays out in real life. You commit to waking up every morning at 6am to hit the gym so you can get jacked. Your alarm goes off at 6am. Assume you did not sleep well because your neighbour was having a wild party. You don't feel super strong so you hit the snooze button. The way you feel is dictating your actions. The employee is telling the boss to keep sleeping. A self disciplined person overrides this resistance becuase he knows his body can perform the work notwithstanding the less then optimal sleep. We all come against resistance. This is Newtons third law of motion - for every action in nature, there is an equal and opposite reaction. For everything you plan to do you will find resistance. For every decision the CEO wants to make, there will be a degree of resistance from the three branches. These will come in the form of resistant thoughts, resistant emotions or resistant sensations in the body. Disciplined people go against this resistance while undisciplined people go with the the flow of the resistance. For example, you are in your second year of university and the subjects start getting difficult. Instead of working harder, you decide to quit because you tell yourself that regardless of how hard your work, things never really turn out for you. Your mind goes back to high school mathematics when your teacher said you sucked at maths and you will never do well regardless of how hard you try. Instead of overcoming the resistance of this negative belief, you decide to align with it and let it wash you down the river of low self discipline. At first it feels good to drop out becuase all the pressure of performance is lifted from your shoulders. You feel relieved but after a few days the sense of failure sets in and you feel like a loser. If something feels good, it does not necessarily mean it is good for you. If that were true, heroin would be good for you. Everything you feel is not always a reflection of your objective reality. The information being provided to you by your mind, body and emotions is not always accurate. Like any good CEO, you know when your employees are lying to you and when they are telling the truth. The human brain processes information assuming it was obtained in rational and objective conditions. It does not consider the possibility of the body interfering in the process. For example, we are not ourselves when we are hungry or tired. Your brain might tell you to quit your job because your boss is a narcissistic dickhead, or leave your wife because she is a controlling bitch. In reality, the solution may be far simpler- you may need a snack or to take a nap. In moments of ambiguity, the brain can jump to some crazy conclusions. Self discipline also involves self awareness where you take your time before making important decisions to see whether the information you are received from your subordinates is accurate. The most common resistence you are going to find is "it doesn't feel good". This is not a message. It is nothing more than a red flag, just like when you phone beeps to say you have a new message. You need to open that message and dig down into what is triggering that red flag. We often differentiate between what we "have to do" and what we "want to do". One of the great things about free will is that you do not have to do anything. You don't have to eat - if you dont, the consequences will be quite extreme, but everyone endowed with free will can choose what they want to do. There is no power in the universe that is forcing you to do things. You therefore need to remove the phrase "I have to...." from your vocabulary. You get to choose what to do and what not to do. If you live your life by a "I have to" philosophy, it will destroy your life. Living without discipline means you are at the mercy of everything around you. Life happens to you and you are a victim of circumstance. You will achieve nothing and you will never be the person you want to be. You will float through life unhappy and unfulfilled. You need to embrace discipline, and this is done by taking on responsibilities and seeing them through. You need to lean into pain and discomfort, because these testing situations will make you grow, and will make you happy and fulfilled. #lifecoach#motivation#lifecoaching#coaching#love#mindset#coach#inspiration#selflove#life#success#selfcare#lifestyle#mentalhealth#mindfulness#personaldevelopment#entrepreneur#goals#happiness#meditation#loveyourself#healing#motivationalquotes#lifequotes#positivevibes#fitness#businesscoach#motivationalspeaker#business
- So, What does an Authentic Life Look Like?
I was always puzzled by the phrase "be true to yourself". Then, at the age of 50, I started to examine my own life and was horrified to discover that we lie to ourselves all the time. For the first 50 years of my life, I was so happy living on the surface and doing everything possible to avoid asking the question - who am I? I have spent the last year doing everything possible to try and answer this question, and this is what I have discovered on the road to trying to live a more authentic life. 1) Remove the Mask It is exhausting being someone you are not - trying to look, dress, speak and own the things you think are important to impress people you don't even like. I then discovered that people are so busy with their shit that they don't care about the act you are putting on. 2) Be Selfish I have discovered that there is good selfishness and bad selfishness. The latter is narcissism and there is nothing authentic about that pathology. I gave up a life of security and stability because I could not be the person I wanted to be. It hurt like hell and I do sometimes regret it. I walked away from an 18-year marriage because I realized that if I stayed, it may have destroyed me. 3) Experiences are more important than Possessions We like to own nice things - cars, homes, clothes, and other shit, but these things end up owning us. They define who we are and mask our true selves. The search for authenticity involves doing things that are meaningful such as helping and connecting with others. 4) Be Kind Kindness and niceness are often seen as weaknesses. I have noticed an increase in Machiavellian advice on social media where men are being told to be cutthroat and ruthless. There is nothing more authentic than genuine kindness. 5) Embrace Your Weaknesses and be Vulnerable This is the hardest one for me because I come from a family where you never show weakness or complain. Life is hard because society is cruel and judgemental. It will always make us feel inadequate. We need to embrace our shortcomings and learn to laugh at our foolishness. We need to get comfortable with being vulnerable. #lifecoach#motivation#lifecoaching#coaching#love#mindset#coach#inspiration#selflove#life#success#selfcare#lifestyle#mentalhealth#mindfulness#personaldevelopment#entrepreneur#goals#happiness#meditation#loveyourself#healing#motivationalquotes#lifequotes#positivevibes#fitness#businesscoach#motivationalspeaker#business
- So You Want to be a Beast in the Bedroom? Nitric Oxide is the Answer.
If you want stronger and longer erections, you need to understand a little about nitric oxide. It is a small molecule that is produced inside your body principally within the inner lining of your blood vessels. It is a signaling molecule that helps to organize and activate your immune system to fight off attacks. It keeps your blood vessels flexible, lowers blood pressure, improves mood and cognition, supports the immune system, and encourages vasodilation. What the hell is vasodilation? It is the medical term for when blood vessels in your body widen, allowing more blood to flow through them. Sildenafil, one of the primary ingredients is viagra, enhances nitric oxide-mediated vasodilation - also known as the male erection! That is some heavy medical content, so let me break it down into simple language. There are steps you can start today in order to naturally increase your nitric oxide levels that will not only turn you into a beast in the bedroom but will also boost your immune system, your mood, and your overall health. Here are 5 simple ways to increase nitric oxide naturally. 1) Breathe through your nose and not your mouth. You can also do sessions of humming - yes, you read correctly. 2) Regular exercise - if you can do this while breathing through your nose, that is a double whammy. 3) Eat certain foods - like beetroot, garlic, carrots, dark chocolate, leafy greens (like kale and spinach), citrus fruits high in Vitamin C (lemons, oranges, and limes), and nuts and seeds. 4) Cut down on sugar and alcohol. 5) Get plenty of high-quality sleep. Men who sleep 5 hours per night have significantly smaller testicles than men who sleep 7-8 hours. Men who sleep 5 hours per night have the same testosterone levels as men 10 years their senior - enough said! #lifecoach#motivation#lifecoaching#coaching#love#mindset#coach#inspiration#selflove#life#success#selfcare#lifestyle#mentalhealth#mindfulness#personaldevelopment#entrepreneur#goals#happiness#meditation#loveyourself#healing#motivationalquotes#lifequotes#positivevibes#fitness#businesscoach#motivationalspeaker#business
- 20 Tips to a Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body
Everyone has heard the phrase "healthy mind in a healthy body". Here are 20 steps to optimize the performance of your mind and transform your body into an invincible tool to perform manly work. Let's start with the brain. This is a muscle like your biceps, yet most men spend more time on bicep curls than on keeping their brains nimble and agile. 1) Learn at least two new brain orientated skills every year. For example, play the guitar and learn a new language. If you prefer smaller goals, aim to learn 12 minor skills per year such as learning how to whistle with your fingers, how to do CPR, or learn how to play chess. 2) Make reading a daily habit to which you stick religiously. You can read fiction or non-fiction, but it must be a book (physical or on an ereader). This means that reading news on your phone does not count. 3) Commit 15 minutes per day to writing. Writing is formalized thinking and if you are a powerful writer, you will have the world at your feet. The pen is mightier than the sword. Start by writing your lifestyle story. You can also keep a journal. You can even write your own short stories or poetry. 4) Listen to music and sing out loud. Force yourself to memorise the words and commit to learning all the lyrics of at least one song per week. 5) Study the life work of great men and women such as Churchill, Einstein, Marcus Aurelius and Roosevelt. 6) Learn how to cook. This forces your brain to follow a recipe step by step and you get to eat the product of your labour. 7) Play brain games such as sodoku and crossword puzzles. You can also look at online brain games such as Lumosity. 8) Take an online course in a field outside of your normal field of interest. For example, if you love sports, take a course in ancient history. 9) Don't use your calculator to do daily maths such as working out the tip on your restaurant bill. 10) Learn a new word every day - become a cunning linguist. Now we move into the body. 11) Every day you should eat at least one meal with superfoods. Superfoods include olive oil, olives, berries, green leafy vegetables (like kale and spinach), fish, free range eggs, free range meat, dark chocolate, avocado, almonds, walnuts, seeds and roots. 12) Focus on eating foods that are good for your gut such as fiber, pickles, onion, raw garlic, leek, asparagus and ginger. 13) Avoid foods that cause inflammation such as gluten, dairy and soy. Stay away from processed foods like cookies, breakfast cereals, tinned vegetables, pies, bacon, sausages, microwave meals and cakes. 14) Drink clean filtered water and stay away from milk, soda and fruit juices. 15) Get moving. If you don't like to run then commit to walking at least 4 times a week. 16) Take the stairs instead of the elevator. 17) Strengthen your core by doing at least 100 sit ups every day. 18) Do weights twice a week. 19) Have a daily stretching routine. 20) Have a specific exercise routine where you work up a sweat and do this three times a week. You can let your imagination run wild. My final bonus tip is get plenty of sleep. Men who sleep 5 hours per night have significantly smaller testicles than men who sleep 7-8 hours. Men who sleep 5 hours per night have the same testosterone levels as men 10 years their senior - enough said! #lifecoach#motivation#lifecoaching#coaching#love#mindset#coach#inspiration#selflove#life#success#selfcare#lifestyle#mentalhealth#mindfulness#personaldevelopment#entrepreneur#goals#happiness#meditation#loveyourself#healing#motivationalquotes#lifequotes#positivevibes#fitness#businesscoach#motivationalspeaker#business
- The Beauty of Boring
We are all drawn to what is sexy, exciting, and interesting. This is true for our careers and social lives. If someone had to make a toast to you, and wish you a boring and simple career and life, you may be taken aback. But let's drill down into the world of boring and assess whether it really is the kiss of death. Tech is the hottest sector right now. Everyone wants to learn how to code, start a tech company with a killer app, and hire an army of whiz kids in hoodies to work out of a modern industrial-styled office with free catering and unlimited vacation time. Careers are like asset classes. When everyone wants to invest in real estate, prices get inflated and returns get diluted. The industries that everyone wants to work in have the lowest return on your efforts because everyone wants to be in them. They attract the best talent and if you want to stand out and be super successful, you need to be a genius. Twenty years ago it was cool to have a job. Now it is cool to start your own business. We now romanticize entrepreneurship, but the truth is that it is not as rewarding as everyone thinks because it is starting to get crowded with many people chasing after the same market. If you are in the business of web design, you are competing with millions of people around the globe that are probably better and cheaper than you are. To be successful as an entrepreneur, you have to go against the flow - offer a simple product or service that is so boring and mundane that no one is prepared to do it. It is also so boring that people are dying to outsource it to a third party (you). In your social life, social media leads you to believe that you want a life of excitement that is Instagrammable. It is a life full of friends, social engagements, fancy cars, flashy watches, and exotic vacations. How happy will this life truly make you? You will never have enough because there will always be someone with a better life than you. Your eternal pursuit of the "best life" will make you empty, envious, and frustrated because you are never satisfied. How about the opposite? You have only a few good close friends, only a few social engagements every week, you live in a simple house and you are not overwhelmed with physical possessions. You get plenty of sleep, and you limit your news and media intake. You enjoy the simplicity of life - a beautiful sunset, quiet meditation in the morning, helping out at the local homeless shelter. You are not afraid of being alone. You enjoy long solitary walks along the beach, being engrossed in a good book, sitting on a bench watching children play and the birds chirp. Of these two lives, which would you say is the most successful? Society will tell you the first life. We live in an age where idle time is bad because you are unproductive, and busyness is a sign of success. Maybe the lack of happiness in your life is not due to the lack of busyness, but rather the lack of boring. #lifecoach#motivation#lifecoaching#coaching#love#mindset#coach#inspiration#selflove#life#success#selfcare#lifestyle#mentalhealth#mindfulness#personaldevelopment#entrepreneur#goals#happiness#meditation#loveyourself#healing#motivationalquotes#lifequotes#positivevibes#fitness#businesscoach#motivationalspeaker#business
